Jan 20th
The Singapore Government announced on Jan 19 that it has selected the Singapore Sports Hub Consortium (SSHC) led by Dragages Singapore Pte Ltd as the preferred bidder for the Singapore Sports Hub Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) project, subject to finalisation of contract details.
SSHC provided a holistic strategy to promote sports participation, leisure, entertainment and lifestyle activities via a focus on community and grassroots sports. Its integrated approach will create foot traffic and promote vibrancy at the Sports Hub. Their strategy is supported by a comprehensive sporting calendar that guarantees at least 90 event days at the National Stadium and 46 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. SSHC has provided a circular design layout with the various sports and commercial facilities surrounding the dome-shaped new National Stadium. The design is well integrated with the consortium’s events and programming strategy, and has the flexibility and scalability for hosting large-scale events, including the National Day Parade. The Sports Hub’s critical mass of facilities and attractions would ensure that the venue is teeming with activity and buzz on event and non-event days.

The Sports Hub will be Singapore’s premier land and sea sports, entertainment and lifestyle hub with integrated programming. A unique cluster development of integrated world-class sports facilities within the city, it will play a critical role in accelerating the development of sports industry, excellence and participation and take sports to the next level in Singapore.
The Sports Hub is expected to be ready in end 2011 with a total costs the government will pay over the 25-year tenure amounts to S$1.87b.
The Sports Hub is believed to be the first and largest sports facilities infrastructure PPP project in the world and is also Singapore’s largest and flagship PPP project of this nature.

Bumper gap
Dec 22nd
I sent my Mitsubishi Lancer Sports for 10,000 km service today. I requested the service guy to look at the right hand side of bumper which drop about 1 cm from the rear light.
The mechanic told me this most likely cause by bump from behind, but it’s may not be visible from the surface. I did not tried very hard to insist this shall cover in the warranty. I had to wait for the call in the afternoon to see what is the next step to take.
True enough the mechanic called in the afternoon and confirm the damage was by bump from behind. And the repair cost is 160 and only can adjust it back to 90-95%. The work involved remove the plastic bumper and hit the bracket that support the bumper back to original condition. I’m not sure how serious inside, I decided to leave it as it. As this may not worth it as the gap is small and did not affect any part of the function. May be defer the repair to the next schedule service after 20,000 km.
I’m kind of give up in maintaining the external appearance of my Lanser, after the scratches from the both front doors when we get someone to force open the door. This is out of no choice as the spare key is in Singapore while the key locked in the boot of the car in Sekinchan, Selangor about 450 km aways from Singapore.
