Resorts World Sentosa Universal Studios open in early 2010
Nov 23rd
Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) Universal Studios Theme Park is going to open in January 2010
It is just a matter of months now until the grand opening of the Universal Studios theme park in Singapore, but that excitement was tempered somewhat when the much-awaited ticket prices were finally made public on Wednesday.
The world’s tallest pair of duelling rollercoasters, Battlestar Galactica, located in Universal Studios Singapore, will propel thrill-seekers on several inversions, a zero-g roll, a Cobra roll, corkscrews, vertical loops and near collisions mere inches apart.
Those who had been hoping for something more affordable would certainly have been baulking at the admission costs, because an outing to the famous attraction – South-east Asia’s first and only Universal Studios – will not come cheap.
A one-day Universal Studios Singapore weekend pass will cost $72 for adults, $52 for children and $36 for senior citizens. Visiting on weekdays will be slightly easier on the wallet – $66, $48 and $32 respectively.
Staying at one of the Sentosa integrated resort’s (IR) hotels is also going to set one back a fair sum. The rates for three hotels have since been made public – deluxe rooms at the Festive Hotel start at $400 a night, it’s $450 to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel and $500 at Hotel Michael. If Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) wants to realistically achieve its target of seeing up to 30,000 visitors at Universal Studios each day, there are no two ways about it: attracting the locals is their best hope. Genting to Mount Faber
Sep 11th
We went to Genting during Singapore National Day long weekend. This time NiangZi plan to get her family to join us and celebrate her birthday with her brother who is just 1 day apart.

We drove 3 cars with 10 adults and 2 children to Genting on August 11. 4 generation of Gan family from Grand mum to children of sister-in-laws.
We bought the Genting Theme Park ticket for both indoor and outdoor theme park after check in to hotel. The weather was nice and cooling there.

Genting 2008 Countdown Photo
Feb 8th
Finally the photo of the Genting 2008 countdown trip is ready. I’m sorry for the long wait. All of the photos were taken by Samsung Z170 Handphone. This is the 3G phone from Starhub’s plan. The quality of the picture is surprisingly good. Most of the photo took in the Genting Indoor and outdoor theme park. Unfortunately we did not manage to capture the countdown firework as we could not even see it with our naked eyes.

Disappointed New Year Eve Show in Genting
Dec 31st
We got the ticket for Jacky Wu’s show on the new year eve in Genting.
On the day before the show we were still wondering whether to drive up to Genting or taking the public transport. Our plan is to drive back to Singapore the next day after the shows. After considering the fact that they will be more traffic to south school start on 2nd Jan. We decided to drive all the way up to Genting. This is my 1st drive to Genting, the drive is easier than expected.
We reached Genting around 11am and check-in by 1pm. We bought the ticket for the Indoor Theme Park only as we saw the queue is shorter in the in door compare to outdoor. After we try a few rides In Door we went for 4D Motion Master cinema. Some how after we exited from the cinema we turn left. There was 1 staff distributing lollipops near the gate to Out Door Theme Park, we took the lollipops from the staff and didn’t realized we actually got into the out door area…
We went ahead to take rides in the Outdoor Theme Pack.. until 6pm when outdoor closed then only we continue the fun at indoor. We actually save 50+ of the ticket price.
The Jacky Wu’s show was started 8pm we were expecting a variety show for the count down to 2008. However it’s turned out to be sub standard Jacky Wu’s concert.

We were attracted to the Genting’s promotion as variety show in which is Jacky’s best area of talent. However may be Jacky Wu miss the concert too much and in fact turn this show to be his concert shows. All the rest of the performances are to inserted between clothes.
The songs are primary old and classic song, most of them never heard before. This become a boring and disappointed show to us.
And the biggest surprise is the show in fact ended around 10:30pm instead of the countdown to 2008. Later we tried to watch the fireworks for the new year at the car push area of Genting Hotel. However we managed to make it to the lobby of Genting Hotel only and not able to go out as too many ppl jammed at the door. It ended up we can only witness the low fireworks only. The fireworks last for 10 minutes. Then we get into Casino to try our lucks. We manage to make even after 3 hours.
