How to sort out the messages in new redesigned Facebook

0

I’m not Facebook user, but I find following article usefuly to the Facebook user who get sick of the recent “enhancement”. The unwelcome facebook redesigned flooding the user with all kinds of streaming updates which may not be necessary.

April 07, 2009CIO — When Facebook redesigned the look and feel of its site last month, the social network took some design cues from Twitter, the service that allows users to share short messages with their friends, family and colleagues. Twitter has been referred to as a “streaming” application; since updates occur in real-time, it causes a river of content to flow down the center of users’ home pages.

Honeymoon in Maldives

Pool View from Kandooma Cafe

Pool View from Kandooma Cafe

We have not plan for honeymoon trip until we checked the singapore airlines website recently. We notice the air ticket have reduced 40% from 1 month ago.
With this saving we started to do the booking of the honeymoon trip 1 week before the departure date.

The air ticket part was easy as only Singapore Airlines have direct and lowest fare. But the accomandation is a big headache to us. As u may not know Maldives have 1190 islands only 190 inhabited. There are over hundreds resorts in various islands. Most of the resorts occupied the whole island by itself. We have spent more than 3 days in run thru all the internet search engines and portals. The most useful portal I come across iswww.mymaldives.com. This portal have the usual Maldives Travel information and hotel resorts list in Maldives with distance from Airport. The best part is the list of hotel official website, this made my life easy to check the availablity instantly and enjoy direct online booking saving without go thru online travel agents.

We have chosen Kandooma Maldives as this is relatively new resorts with attractive rate. We book for 6 nights plus late checkout as our return flight is near mid-night. (more…)

Our ROM Solemnization at Labrador Park

7

P1020444

Yeah rite we have decided to settle down finally. We did not planed to ROM in Singapore until late September when we planed to move to Parc Oasis in Jurong. While we explored the date to ROM,suddenly realized 1st Nov is our 3rd years together. From then we start our plan for the ROM in Singapore, we later noticed ROM registry office did not opened on the date we wanted, we have the option to invite the solemnizer for solemnization outside ROM.

While searching for the ROM venue, we expert the place to have nice scenery, quiet, greenery and close to nature. Somehow Labrador park pop-up in my mind. All I can recalled from memory was the BBQ session with my colleagues in Sharp 10 years ago. The park is by the sea and opposite Sentosa Island. After I surf the National Parks website, and book the place immediately. At the end it turn out to be our perfect place for our ROM.

After decided the time and venue, we started to book for the solemnizer, filling our ROM, Wedding Bands, ROM dress and caterer. Initially we only intended to invite family and close friends for the ceremony, later we changed our mind 1 week before to invite friends and colleagues in Singapore as we know many of them may not able to come to our customary wedding dinner in Malaysia. The caterer was a big headache for us, inflexible to satisfy our requirement, slow in respond and the worst is denied the offer agreed previously. We decided to move on and deal with them later. ;)

The big question mark for us was the whole ceremony process and decoration, we want to make it simply and unique. Balloons only appear in our mind 3 days before ROM. We have a brief meeting with Kok Pin and decided the whole decoration in 2 hours time. At the same time Venice’s friend Boon Soon gave us idea of making the balloons floats by inflating with helium gas.

ROM Preparation

The bicycle ride was NiangZi’s idea when we first visit the park. In the end we managed to get the bicycle and helium gas tank on the day before ROM. This sound like amazing race for me. It turn out of me amazing ROM.

 ROM Setup

The bicycle’s number plate was last minute work from BS. We enjoyed the whole ride completely from the bicycle’s decoration, balloons, cans, poppers to the music.

2008 Singapore Grand Prix – First F1 Night Race

Singtel Singapore Grand Prix 2008

This weekend 26-28 Sep is the Singapore Grand Prix
Formula One race set to stage its inaugural event on 28 September 2008. To be staged in the Marina Bay area of Singapore. The first Formula One Grand Prix in Singapore will also be Formula One’s first night race.

The Monaco race may be one of the most glamorous and historic events on the Formula One calendar but that’s not why the drivers love it so. The real draw for them is in the challenge of the Monte Carlo circuit’s twists and turns, which rewards the brave and punishes the tiniest of mistakes. They and their teams explain why they can’t wait to get started on Thursday…
He may be one of the newest faces on the grid, but Toro Rosso’s Daniel Ricciardo is quickly establishing himself as a talent to watch for the future. We caught up with Ricciardo to find out about what makes him tick off the track and the Australian had a few surprises in store. After likening himself to a honey badger, he revealed his fear of sharks, a love of chocolate, and more
Following his victory at the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday, Williams driver Pastor Maldonado gives his thoughts on his first win in Formula One, his prospects for the upcoming Monaco round, and the 2012 season so far
It may have only been a short line near the bottom of an article about the Spanish race, but the words published earlier this week on Ferrari’s official website must have hit home to Felipe Massa and his legion of fans. “Everyone, he more than anyone, is expecting a change of gear starting right away,” it read. Despite its brevity, most onlookers decided the message was a loud and clear one
At the Spanish Grand Prix last Sunday Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi equalled the best race result of his Formula One career. The Japanese driver came fifth at the Circuit de Catalunya, just as he did in Monaco last year. This year, armed with an improved car, he’s hoping to go at least one better around the streets of the Principality. Kobayashi reviews his Barcelona performance and looks ahead to Monte Carlo

Accident in Malaysia Insurance Claim and Repair process

On Malaysia’s independent day 31 August, while I was driving back to Sekinchan a Malay driver hit my car from behind. Fortunately all the passengers did not injured.

While my car reached the 1st traffic light of Tanjong Karang. It was red light and I stopped as usual. When the green light on, I moved the car slowly and brek as the vehicle in front still not moving. Out of no where we felt a big bang from behind, when I get of my car I saw a small Kerisa knocked on to the rear of my car.  (more…)

Singapore Petrol Price History

8

Good News to all Singapore Drivers!!! Petrol price have reduced 2 times in a week :D
Lastest update Nov 21 : The petrol price have reduce to the price level of 2004. :)

I was trying to do research last night to find out the past history of petrol price in Singapore. I was not able to find the exact information I need from the internet. I do find the Crude Oil price chart which is on the right side bar. But I’m not able to obtain the history chart for Singapore petrol pump price.

I come across a interesting website petrol watch which monitor the change of pump price of all 4 brand of Singapore Petrol station. Caltex, Shell, Exxon Mobil and SPC. But without the trend chart for the petrol price. As a results I have to extracted all the update from the website to excel and plot the chart I want. I’m generous enough to share my hard work to anyone who may find this useful.
