Honeymoon in Maldives

We have not plan for honeymoon trip until we checked the singapore airlines website recently. We notice the air ticket have reduced 40% from 1 month ago.
With this saving we started to do the booking of the honeymoon trip 1 week before the departure date.

The air ticket part was easy as only Singapore Airlines have direct and lowest fare. But the accomandation is a big headache to us. As u may not know Maldives have 1190 islands only 190 inhabited. There are over hundreds resorts in various islands. Most of the resorts occupied the whole island by itself. We have spent more than 3 days in run thru all the internet search engines and portals. The most useful portal I come across iswww.mymaldives.com. This portal have the usual Maldives Travel information and hotel resorts list in Maldives with distance from Airport. The best part is the list of hotel official website, this made my life easy to check the availablity instantly and enjoy direct online booking saving without go thru online travel agents.

We have chosen Kandooma Maldives as this is relatively new resorts with attractive rate. We book for 6 nights plus late checkout as our return flight is near mid-night.

Sun, Sea and Sands

We really like the relax feeling of this resorts, everything is brand new. We spend most of the time in the infinite pools outside the Kandooma Cafe.

Kandooma Cafe

Kandooma island’s dive center is run by Euro Divers which have couple more dive center in various Maldives Islands. The bad thing there is no house reef in Kandooma Islands. I did 2 dives and NiangZi did 1 dives at the dives site around, but nothing compare to Malaysia dive sites. We are a bit disappointed with lack of corals to see. I did spotted Sharks and witness a large fish spawning eggs. The marine life is not as many as Sipadan or Tengganu Islands in Malaysia.

The only thing different is the dive boat which is structure as the local Dhino boat

We stayed is beach villa which is very nicely done with outdoor shower facilities. The best part is 2 times housekeeping in the morning and evening. We like our Villa #90 very much.

There are many water sports activities and excursion offered by Kandooma. We take part in the interesting night fishing on day 3.

The fishing boat leave at 6pm and return 1.5 hours later. We managed to catch 3 fishes include a large red snapper.

Overall we have a very enjoyable honeymoon on this tiny Kandooma island of India Ocean
