Advertlets.com domain expired
Another big disappointment after the new year.
I just noticed advertlets.com is down due to domain name renewal issue
The whois record show the expire on 4th Jan 2008

This is some thing not acceptable for the advertisement network based on internet. The domain name is the fundamental asset for running online business.
This is a big mistake for getting domain name expired.
The impact is all the website or blog running Advertlets ads unit will redirected to a domain registry parking site. This is really ugly. And effective bring down all the publisher’s website or blog.
This took me a while to remove advertlets from my blog and the reseller site.
Looks like I need to start another round of search for the better advertisement network.
Advertlets is back as Jan 8.
The founder have apologized and explain the issue in the official blog.
To me this can be due to mishandling of domain transfer to another registry. The DNS server was not update properly to the new registry before the expired. The existing registry play nasty game by redirect traffic to the packing domain.
Advertlets shall set the record right the root cause of this incident instead of merely complication in the domain renewal process.
